Our Educational Activites
The Centre has been actively organising a wide range of activities for various target groups at regional, national and international levels. Apart from propagating and inculcating the perennial values and teachings of the Ramayana, the Centre also lays lots of emphasis on the holistic development of devotees. A pool of devoted resource persons are actively engaged in running various classes and activities at the Centre.

To promote and propagate the values of Ramayana, two programmes are broadcast on MBC Radio; Manas Motee - a fortnightly programme- and Manas Manthan - a weekly programme

Bal Sanskar
Children are like soft clay; it is our responsibility to instil the right ethical and moral values in them at a very early age.
During the Bal sanskar sessions, children are:
(i) Introduced to the teachings of the Ramayana and other Hindu scriptures;
(ii) Taught to recite mantras, bhajans and verses of the Ramayana and other holy scriptures;
(iii) Brought closer to their cultural root by imparting knowledge about Hindu religion,
festivals, customs and practices.
Yoga Classes
The Ramayana is an allegory of the principle of yogic living and Lord Ram is the role model, who is firmly in control of all his senses. With this in mind, the Centre holds Yoga Classes for all age groups.
Hindi Classes for Adults
Since the Ramcharitmanas has been written in Devnagri script, special classes are held for
adults for a better pronunciation of the verses and understanding of the text.

Sanskrit Classes
The Ramayana Centre conducts Sanskrit Classes to enable learners to have an understanding of the Sanskrit Language and meaning of prayers.
Ramayana Chanting and
Interpretation Classes
These classes are run with the objective to help Ramayana singers and devotees with the correct pronunciation and reading the Chaupayee, Doha, Sortha and Chhand.
Emphasis is also laid on the intrinsic values and knowledge that the Ramayana has to
transmit to us for our daily living.
Music Classes
Music classes are held to enable the lovers of the Ramayana to sing the verses of the
Ramayana with the understanding of “Sur” and “Taal.”

The Ramayana Centre offers classes on Hindu Dharma covering the essential concepts such as Dharma, karma, sansar, renunciation and liberation.
Seminars & Workshops
The Ramayana Centre organises seminars and workshops on several themes related to the Ramayana. Resource persons are invited to give discourses.
Katha
The Ramayana Centre regularly organises katha on Ramayana both at its seat and
around the island.
Ramleela
The Ramayana Centre holds workshops on Ram Leela Drama. The different sessions deal with plot and script, emotions, stage practice, body language, and dialogues, amongst others. Participants at the end mount a one act play and present to their peers. They are awarded certificates at the end of the Workshop.
Competitions
The essay, drawing, painting, and Ramayana-themed competitions, organized across various occasions like Tulsidas Jayanti and Hanuman Jayanti, promote cultural and creative expression among participants of all ages. These events, including essay writing on Ramayana values, Ramayana chanting, Hanuman Chalisa recitation, and Ram Leela drama competitions, aim to instill moral values and creativity, while connecting participants with their cultural roots. They consistently attract high participation and are supported by cash prizes, certificates, and exhibitions to showcase participants' talents to the public.
